MITOS NGO runs awareness, education, counselling and training programmes aimed at helping people enjoy good mental health. We are young mental health professionals; psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and educators dedicated to our mission, namely the promotion of mental health, especially when it comes to people in need and vulnerable groups like the homeless, the unemployed, workers, volunteer rescuers, etc. We can provide guidance and support and implement interventions in order to empower those in need.
In more detail:
- Mental health after a traumatic event
If you are involved in or witness a stressful event of high intensity or duration, this could potentially lead to the disruption of balanced mental health and development of PTSD. MITOS’s scientists can advise and intervene promptly and effectively addressing problems and preventing possible evolution of the phenomenon.
- Mental health at work
Our research confirms that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly to employers. Do you know how to tackle such a topic? MITOS has scientific knowledge, the expertise in the subject and the right tools.
Bullying is the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. One essential prerequisite is the perception, by the bully or by others, of an imbalance of social or physical power, which distinguishes bullying from conflict. Behaviors used to assert such domination can include verbal harassment or threat, physical assault or coercion, and such acts may be directed repeatedly towards particular targets. Rationalizations for such behavior sometimes include differences of social class, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, behavior, body language, personality, reputation, lineage, strength, size or ability. If bullying is done by a group, it is called mobbing.
Bullying is a sad reality in our country. How do we approach the phenomenon? How do we talk about it, especially to our children? MITOS has the expertise and a unique methodology for implementing awareness programs and addressing the issue.
