Internationaler Wirtschaftsrat e. V. (IWR) in English, International Economic Association, is a Berlin based non-profit network supporting SMEs which are active in export business. Our members seek opportunities to enhance their export activities in a globalizing world. The entry into new markets is a frequent challenge. IWR supports companies by networking, know-how-transfer and maintains a council of experts sharing their profound knowledge and experience in various management fields. A unique service of IWR is the assistance of SMEs in doing business with international organizations such as the United Nations.
As a member of the United Nations Global Compact Network, IWR supports the United Nation’s call to align business strategies and operations with the universal principle of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Supply chain sustainability and sustainable procurement are our special focus. IWR briefs SMEs and multipliers about the UN Global Compact and the chances of getting involved in the global discourse on sustainability on all of its events and trade-fair appearances. Furthermore, IWR add on the topic sustainable supply chains in combination with deepened development cooperation to its seminars and workshops on international public procurement.
IWR welcomes new networking partners, companies, individuals and institutions alike, to foster the exchange of views on suitable solutions to support SMEs in developing vital sustainability strategies and approaches.
