Dentons achieves 2018 Mansfield certification

Dentons, the global law firm, announced that it achieved Mansfield Certification for 2018 and will again partner with Diversity Lab to launch Mansfield 2.0. The launch of Mansfield 2.0 will broaden the obligations and expand the initiative to now include LGBTQ+ attorneys.

Dentons signed on to pilot the Diversity Lab's inaugural version of the Mansfield Rule, beginning in summer 2017. The Mansfield Rule is an initiative aimed to boost diversity in leadership ranks within law firms. Named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States, it measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women and minority lawyers—at least 30 percent of the candidate pool—for promotions, senior-level hiring and significant leadership roles in the firm.

"We are making important strides in advancing Dentons’ deep commitment to becoming an even more diverse and inclusive workplace, and know that we must continue our efforts every day," stated Dentons US CEO Mike McNamara. "I am very proud that Dentons is continuing its participation with Diversity Lab and the Mansfield initiative to further promote diversity and inclusion across our profession."

Diversity Lab's certification is among the recognition Dentons has received recently for its demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. This summer Dentons was once again named one of Working Mother Magazine's Best Law Firms for Women and one of Stonewall's Top Global Employers. Human Rights Campaign and Equality Illinois have both ranked Dentons among the best workplaces for LGBTQ equality for numerous years.

Dentons also received Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the sixth straight year, recognizing the Firm's dedication to advancing women into leadership roles and commitment to equal compensation.
