New school year for the "Access to the Digital World" programme, which helps the elderly familiarise themselves with the use of digital technology, making their everyday life better and easier. Free courses for the residents of Attica and Thessaloniki cities continue in cooperation by the NGO 50plus Hellas, with COSMOTE as a strategic partner, in training centres of the collaborative municipalities of Athens, Amaroussion, Piraeus and Thessaloniki.
The "Access to the Digital World" programme is being implemented for six years now and aims at providing equal access to technology for all ages for a better world for all. Through free courses, people over 50 years old learn how to use tablets and touch-screen interfaces, browse the web, use social media and other useful applications (e.g. notes, email, Google maps) etc. The programme has been attended by more than 7,500 people since 2012 onwards.
To participate in free courses you can contact at the call centre 210-6249300 (every day from 09:00 to 21:00) which is by COSMOTE e-Value, a member of the OTE Group, which provides integrated Contact Centre services. Courses are held in training centres in the areas of Piraeus, Amaroussion and Thessaloniki, as well as in Pangrati and Petralona, in collaboration with the Open Schools of the Municipality of Athens.
The "Access to the Digital World" programme is included in the OTE Group's sustainable development actions to reduce the digital gap and to provide equal access for all to the capabilities of the new digital era.
