Vassiliko Cement Works finalized a series of environmental actions

Vassiliko Cement Works participated for a sixth consecutive year in the Pancyprian Volunteerism Campaign Let's Do It Cyprus, as one of its Strategic Sponsors. 

On Friday, April 5, the Company participated in the environmental action “I Clean Cyprus”, in cooperation with Mari community and the neighboring company VTTV, aiming at cleaning the road in the plant’s entrance until Mari community entry, with the active participation of volunteer employees from both companies and community residents. 

Moreover, Vassiliko Cement Works participated in the “1 st Environment Festival in Larnaca”, on April 7th , with its own stand. The festival aimed at awareness raising among citizens for environmental protection, for a ‘green sustainable city’. Representatives from the Company informed visitors about its Environment-related activities and its Corporate Social Responsibility policy applied. The company’s philosophy in underpinned on the combination of business operation with development of initiatives and overall upgrading of living standards, cultural level and environmental protection. 

Let’s Do It Cyprus is part of the world campaign Let’s Do It World. In Cyprus, the campaign is run by the volunteers’ network Together Cyprus and the Environment Commissioner, Ioanna Panayiotou. The campaign is jointly organized by the European Commission, the Commissioner for Volunteerism and NGOs, Yiannis Yiannakis, the Forests Department, the Association of Municipalities and Communities, the Pedagogic Institute, the scouting body and the Cyprus Youth Council. 

At Vassiliko Cement Works we share a common vision calling on us to develop all of our activities in a socially responsible way, adhering to ethics and minimizing any environmental impact because we belong to a society requiring greater sensitivity and closer cooperation.
