Global Good Awards UK: Award Entry Workshops

From: 15.01.2020 To: 23.01.2020 Share

DOES YOUR ORG ENTER AWARDS? Frustrated you often make finals but don’t win? BOOK NOW FOR @GlobalGoodAward unique Award Entry Workshops. LEARN, WRITE, be JUDGES, be a JUDGE! Open to any org entering any awards! Coming to #Leeds #London & #Brighton. >> http://ow.ly/keqz30pPSTu

After a 92% feedback rating from their 2019 workshop in London, The Global Good Awards are expanding with additional workshops in Leeds and Brighton with all locations being within a 5 min walk from the major rail stations.

Leeds Building Society, 105 Albion Street, Leeds, LS1 5AS – 15th JANUARY
Platf9rm, North Road, Brighton, BN1 1YR – 20th JANUARY
Hammerson plc, King’s Place, 90 York Way, London, N1 9GE – 23rd JANUARY

Specific to the Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability & Social Impact sectors and delivered by Boost Awards, the world’s first and largest award writing agency, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, write, be judged and be a judge all in one session! Not only that; there will be judges there so you can pitch your activity or project to them!

To endorse the ‘sharing of best practice’, this workshop is NOT exclusively for those that are entering the Global Good Awards. It’s for any organisation entering any awards programme associated with purpose-driven sustainability, social impact and CSR. Obviously we would love you to enter our programme, and as a little incentive, you will receive an entry discount for attending.

Learn, write, be judged, be a judge – all in one session!
It’s quite likely that if you’re reading this, your organisation is doing something that is of award winning quality, but that is only half the story. Getting into the finals, and hopefully winning awards, is not about what you believe you have done well, but the impact your story has on the judges. These can be two very different things.

For the second year, Boost Awards, the world’s first and largest award writing agency has come together with the Global Good Awards, the first UK awards to be accredited with a GOLD ‘Awards Trust Mark’ from IASCTM, to deliver a unique Award Entry Workshop, specific to the Corporate Responsibility, Environmental, Sustainability and Social Impact sectors.

If you would like some inspiration on how to get started on your submission, and to ensure your project is well-written and is good enough to be an ‘award winner’ then this course is not to be missed! The 2019 workshop received a positive feedback score of 92%! See below for delegate testimonials.

Who should attend the workshop?
Any organisation that enters any sustainability, CSR or Social Impact awards programmes. This is not an exclusive event for those entering the Global Good Awards.

The person in those organisations who will actually be leading on the writing of the entry or the activity/project they are entering, even if they are not actually doing all the writing themselves.

The session will help you choose which story to enter, how to write efficiently and effectively within the entry form limits, what ‘good presentation’ means with award entries, and (crucially) what evidence you need to convince the judges that your case is the most deserving of the award.

Workshop Outline
We’re offering you a unique opportunity to not only tap into Boost’s knowledge about how to write a winning award entry, but you’ll also get to meet some of the judges with experience of judging the Global Good Awards and ask them what they look for in YOUR project compared to others before making that crucial decision.

You’ll get to grips with:
Award strategy: how to choose the best stories, impartially advise which awards to enter, plan your entry process to ensure you meet the deadline without cutting corners or taking risks.

Award writing: winning an award isn’t about how deserving you are, it is about how deserving the judges think you are, and this is a very different thing. To convince the judges to pick you as a winner requires a combination of strong narrative, professional visual presentation, and compelling evidence. The workshop will cover all three areas in the context of sustainability and social impact awards.

Cut through to the hard and important facts: learn how to best do your entry justice and how to go about finding the evidence needed to substantiate your claims. Remember that claims are only assumptions without evidence– and can’t be judged upon!

Get your story assessed by peers and judges: use what you learn on the day to write and present a short pitch to Global Good Awards judges, and your peers. We have two experienced GGA judges coming along and you’ll be able to pitch your project live to them – the decision makers – and leave with genuine comments about your project before you’ve even entered!

Experience being a judge: as well as pitching your story, you will be a judge too, hearing the other delegates’ pitches. The experience of being ‘on the other side of the table’ is extremely eye opening. You will probably never write an award entry the same way again.

Prefer to keep your project confidential?
If you’d rather have some privacy rather than discussing your project in open forum, why not book one of our 1-2-1 surgeries instead. Bring your project to the event and have a 2hr review with one of our experienced award writers.
