Board's New Operating Model 

New Delhi (India): I trust you and your family continue to take necessary steps to remain safe and healthy. 

Thinking of all of you as we cope with the unprecedented global health crisis. As we all play our part by practicing social distancing, I am sure we will see the end of this crisis soon and return to normal or whatever the new normal will be. 

During this period, the board should encourage management to undertake a broad strategic reevaluation that could entail embracing some bold moves including new technologies as various alternatives. The importance of remote working technology, enterprise-wide action plans can guide new governance measures to stay resilient, relevant and competitive. 

Now, the Roles & Responsibilities of Board of Directors are going to be more vital & complex than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be organizing many such webinars/ training activties to explore the role of NEDs and get personal insights, helping you build presence and influence at board level, and supporting you through exercises to identify your strengths and development needs.

TRAINING: 
Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt of India has provided a platform to develop a databank of Independent directors by way of empanelment of existing Independent Directors as well as the professionals aspiring to become Independent Directors. Accordingly, any person who is willing to be appointed or is already an Independent Director is required to pass an ‘Online Proficiency Self-Assessment Test’ conducted by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) with at least 60% passing marks.  The last date of registration on Independent Directors Databank has now been extended for two more months. The last date for Databank registration will be June 30 2020 . 

This weekend on May 30 & 31, is set to host the first online class and total 91 Directors and Senior Executives are undergoing the Training Programme. 

In order to assist you to pass the online test, Institute of Directors, is organizing the next ‘Orientation Programme for Independent Director’s Proficiency Test through Online mode on weekends:
