Donation of 3150 tablets through Bodossaki Foundation’s “Digital School for All” programme
With contributions from the Foundation itself, Public – MediaMarkt, EYDAP, Eurobank, MYTILINEOS, BCG and individual donors
Through Bodossaki Foundation’s “Digital School for All” programme, the Foundation itself, Public – MediaMarkt (with a donation of 1000 tablets), EYDAP (the Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company), Eurobank, MYTILINEOS, Boston Consulting Group, and individual donors, offer a total of 3,150 tablets to public secondary schools in the country, for distribution, through the school units, to school students who need them.
Delivery of the tablets is organised by Bodossaki Foundation and the schools to receive them are selected at the suggestion of the Ministry of Education, according to the identified needs.
This donation represents the first phase of the “Digital School for All” programme, and has come in response to the Ministry’s invitation to strengthen the country’s educational structures with technological equipment. It aims to enhance accessibility to distance learning for all students, but also, in the longer term, to deepen the digital skills of the student community.
On the donation, the Minister of Education stated the following:
“We would like to warmly thank the donors who are supporting education in practice. The technological equipment has already been or will be delivered to school units that need it, throughout the country, according to the Ministry’s instructions. These donations come on top of the actions and initiatives already launched by the Ministry for the technological upgrading of our schools. Step by step, we are building the schools we deserve, capitalising on the gains made in distance learning, and we create the conditions for further development of the digital skills of our education community.”
The next phase of the programme will be implemented through the regular donations of Bodossaki Foundation to the country’s schools, thus further enhancing their digital capabilities.
To maximise the programme’s social impact, the Foundation, in addition to participating with its own funds, has joined forces with companies known for their long-standing commitment to social contribution, as well as with individual donors. To this end, the Foundation will continue to manage third-party donations for as long as necessary.
