The selection of the 10 teams that will participate in the comprehensive three-month educational program COSMOTE StartUp and have the opportunity to turn their idea into a business has been successfully completed. The total number of applications for participation in the program rose to 287, exceeding all expectations.

The process was completed within the Selection Day, held at OTE Academy. The 40 teams that were short-listed out of the 287 that applied, had the opportunity to present their business ideas to a committee, comprised of five seasoned professionals, representatives of: COSMOTE, Found.ation, Hellenic Management Association (HMA), Ogilvy Group and Google. The 10 highest scoring teams that stood out for the novelty of their business idea are the following: Checkinbeauty, DominoStyle, Mageca, Medical Evolution, Mytutor@home, Quispot, retailor*, TizU, Tutorizon and Αkseems.

“The level of the ideas presented was particularly high, which made the selection exceptionally difficult. We genuinely thank all those who applied for the COSMOTE StartUp program. The desire of so many young people to excel in the business field and the large number of innovative ideas make us optimistic for the future of novel entrepreneurship in Greece”, stated COSMOTE Marketing Communication Strategy Director, Mr Haris Koninis.

The all-day event participants also had the opportunity to attend interesting lectures by investment professional specializing in technology startups, Mr Dimitris Vranopoulos and Romanian “startup guru”, Mr Bogdan Iordache.

COSMOTE StartUp was created by COSMOTE in collaboration with HMA, entrepreneurship hub Found.ation and OTEAcademy. It is addressed to people with novel ideas, which under the right guidance and with support by experts can be transformed into a sustainable business plan that will be presented to Greek investment companies, private investors and investment funds. The program’s goal is to foster innovation and novel entrepreneurship.
