“Yearbook 2013/14 – Beyond Borders” presented in Athens, Greece

The “Yearbook 2013/14Beyond Borders”, was officially presented at a special event held at the B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music, in Athens, on July 3, 2014. The event was attended by Global Sustain members, corporate leaders, academia and other stakeholders. 

Mr. Michael Spanos, Managing Partner, Global Sustain, in his welcoming address highlighted some of the research and content of the seventh Yearbook. 

Prof. George Ioannou, Director, MBA International Program, Athens University of Economics & Business, spoke about their initiatives to incorporate entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable energy disciplines into the world acknowledged and awarded MBA International program. 

Mr. Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Vice President of Global Development, POLYECO, presented the Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative (PCAI), the company’s CSR flagship program, which tries to raise environmental awareness of waste management through art. Finally, 

Mr. Yiannis Kallias, CEO, TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, emphasized the need for certification according to international standards, which opens up export markets for products and services offering competitive advantage. 

Before closing the event, Mr. Michael Spanos shared with the audience an update about the third Sustainability Forum that will take place in October 3, 2014, at the Center of Sustainable Entrepreneurship “Excelixi” (http://sustainabilityforum.gr/).
