Further to its distinction for the “3rd Best Business Continuity Team” globally in 2010, COSMOTE has received international accolades for yet another year winning the “Highly Commended Business Continuity Manager of the Year” award, at the International Business Continuity Awards 2011 presented in London on 25 May.
The company ranked 4th in the “Business Continuity Team of the Year” category and 6th in the “Business Continuity Initiative of the Year” category.
COSMOTE is the only company in Greece that excelled at the internationally recognised Business Continuity Awards, as well as the only non-UK company that managed to make it to the short-list of nominees.
The International Business Continuity Awards, organised since 1999 by the British magazine “Continuity Insurance & Risk” specialising on industry issues, recognise excellence within the field of Business Continuity. At the 2011 edition, awards were presented in 19 categories.
The Financial Times, Northern Trust and Lloyds Banking Group are some of the companies that received first-place awards in the various categories.

The nominees were evaluated by a panel of 10 judges based on a set of criteria, such as know-how in the field of Business Continuity, organisation, as well as the initiatives of the Business Continuity teams in 2010. The judges were drawn from among internationally esteemed industry professionals from such companies as General Motors IT, ICAP and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
