EUROPEAN RELIANCE: ISO 50001:2011 Certification in energy management

European Reliance successfully completed the annual inspection for the ISO 50001:2011 Certification, carried out by the verified entity TÜV NORD, on the energy management system of the Company.

This system certifies that the business operates in a sustainable way, saving resources. Through this standard the Company contributes to the protection of the environment and the climate and benefits itself from energy saving.

By the end of the annual inspection, European Reliance is, among others, successful in being the first insurance company to receive this certification, maintain the appropriate energy policy, identify the needs and trace opportunities for improvement. In addition, the energy management system that the Company applies, enables it to determine objective targets on energy efficiency, and maintain an organizational structure adjusted to the efficient management of energy resources in general.

European Reliance establishes proper energy management practices, reduces the emissions of greenhouse gases, limits the risks related to energy safety and establishes a framework for decrease of the energy cost for its function, contributing effectively to the global effort for climate change.

The internationally identified ISO 50001:2011 certification is another reward for the strategic planning of European Reliance General Insurance Co. S.A., which is fully in line with the International Standards, European Directives, Best Practices for Sustainable Development, as a Company that constantly tries to respond to the needs of the environment and the society.
