Collaboration and capacity building are in the spotlight on achieving the global goals for sustainable development and climate change targets. For one more year, Global Sustain participated in the Egypt CSR Forum, an annual event for corporate responsibility and sustainable development, bringing together key actors from the global and regional ESG markets.
The 12th Egypt CSR Forum – A networking, training and professional development event, took place on March 10-13, 2022, at Jolie Ville Resort & SPA Kings Island in Luxor, Egypt.
Michael Spanos, Managing Director of Global Sustain, delivered to over 150 participants a 3-day training course on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), as a robust climate governance and reporting framework to define and manage the impacts of climate change, risks and opportunities, climate-related policies, and emerging technologies on financial markets.
The Forum highlighted the importance of institutional development and capacity building as the main engines in achieving sustainability. The discussion topics included the role of effective partnerships for sustainable development and limiting climate change effects, sustainable finance, and best practices from the private sector in achieving sustainability. In addition, several workshops took place focusing on topics such as developing an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), sustainability strategies, sustainable business models, social inclusion, and digital transformation.
The Forum was attended by leading speakers and experts on ESG and sustainable finance from national and international organisations, including ministries, regulatory authorities, banks, investors, international financial institutions, academia, civil society, and corporates from key sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, construction, pharmaceuticals, media, and telecommunications, among others.
