Gartner Names Schneider Electric in its Top 15 2016 European Supply Chain Organizations

  • Company joins Top 5 for first time
  • Leaders show growing emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility, Use of Analytics, Digital Capabilities and Multi-Enterprise Focus

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced that Gartner, Inc., the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry, has rated the company #5 in its 2016 Gartner Supply Chain Top 25: Europe Top 15¹.  Schneider Electric joins the top 5 for the first time this year, jumping 5 spots from its 2015 ranking.

Key Capabilities of Leaders Highlighted

Gartner identified the top 15 performers in the report based on a combination of business metrics – return on assets, inventory turns, revenue growth and corporate social responsibility (CSR) – and a composite score that consists of the opinion of peers, Gartner supply chain analysts and the business metrics. This is the first year that Gartner has included a corporate social responsibility score in its rankings, which the company believes highlights the importance investors, customers, consumers and others are placing on companies incorporating CSR goals into their supply chain strategy and operations.

The report also noted that leading European organizations are not only placing increased emphasis on CSR, but also on:

  • Multi-Enterprise Focus;
  • Increased Adoption of Advanced Analytics;
  • Digital Business;
  • Supply Chain Innovation

Commitment ot Customers

Annette Clayton, CEO and President, North America Operations, and Chief Supply Chain Officer, Schneider Electric, said: “We believe Gartner’s latest European Supply Chain rating, as well as their global supply chain rating announced earlier this year², confirms the great strides we continue to make and our commitment to providing our customers with best-in-class supply chains that meet their unique energy challenges. Our goal is to ensure that our large base of global customers experiences fully the benefits of our tailored supply chain and that our teams throughout the world are providing the best services possible for our customers and stakeholders.”

The European Supply Chain Top 15 results were presented at the company’s annual Supply Chain Executive Conference, held September 19-20, 2016, in London. More information is available to Gartner clients in the research note 2016 Gartner Supply Chain Top25: Europe Top 15.
