The CEO of Enel Green Power, voted for by the committee of the magazine “Management of Utilities Infrastructures”, was awarded in Milan during a workshop organised by Agici, in collaboration with Accenture.
Francesco Venturini has been named Manager of the Year 2016 by the committee of the magazine “Management of Utilities and Infrastructures”. The Enel Green Power CEO received his award on 2 March in Milan, during the workshop entitled “Proposals for the new National Energy Strategy – Technologies and Models of Implementation” organised by Agici Corporate Finance, in collaboration with Accenture.
Now in its tenth edition, the event awards the best manager in the energy sector and the best manager in the local public services sector (environment, water and local transport). As the research and consulting company, which specialises in the utilities sector, tells us, the candidates “must distinguish themselves with significant achievements over the years, as part of their respective sectors. These could be managers of public or private companies, in the public sector, consulting companies, in the world of finance or even professionals or scholars”.
In addition to Francesco Venturini, Massimiliano Bianco from IREN was awarded for the local public services sector, while special recognition was given to the management of Alperia, represented by its president Wolfram Sparber.
The workshop on 2 March, organised by Agici’s M&A Observatory, which monitors alliances, aggregations and strategies of companies working in the energy and environment sectors, was dedicated to the new National Energy Strategy (SEN).
The event began with the presentation of the AGICI-Accenture document on how the new SEN should be set up. Two round tables followed, in which the large Italian energy groups and the main multi-utilities expressed their points of view. The morning was enhanced by important key note speeches on themes linked to the SEN, which involved finance, regulation and the market. At the end of the morning session, the “Managers of the Year” for the “Energy” and the “Local Utilities sectors were awarded.
In the afternoon, innovative and successful cases were presented, which may give proactive ideas, both for the new SEN as a business model, and in the technological field.
