MYTILINEOS in the Leadership level of the global sustainable initiative CDP-WATER

MYTILINEOS S.A. is included for the year 2017 in the Leadership (A-) level of the global initiative CDP-WATER, acknowledged for its long – term commitment to environmental responsibility and thus to sustainable growth.

The specific section of the CDP initiative and the quantitative and qualitative indicators accompanying it, are designed to help investors integrate water management related data into their investments decisions. The Leadership level includes companies that recognize the water usage risks and apply best practices for their proper management within and outside the boundaries of their activities. MYTILINEOS enhancement in this sector was, according to the CDP organization results report, the main reason of its performance improvement from Management (2016 Level B) to Leadership level in 2017.

MYTILINEOS’ participation in the CDP–WATER global sustainable initiative is voluntary and is carried out with the submission of comprehensive data on the water resources management from the Business Units of Metallurgy and Electric Power. It is worth mentioning that MYTILINEOS moved upwards as opposed to the drop recorded in the average performance of companies of the energy and the wider industrial sector globally.

Concluding, MYTILINEOS S.A. was one of the 6.317 participating companies in the CDP in 2017 and the only Greek company in the WATER section. The year 2018 marks the company’s preparation for its official participation in the CDP – CLIMATE CHANGE section, expanding its participation in European, international and sectoral sustainable growth initiatives.
