TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS through its subsidiary TÜV AUSTRIA CYPRUS, recently successfully completed the certification of the Energy Management Systems of HERMES AIRPORTS LTD, which is responsible for the management and operation of international Larnaca and Paphos airports in Cyprus in accordance with the requirements of EN ISO 50001. In particular, the international standard specifies the general requirements for the development of energy management systems in a company while focusin on identifying energy improvement opportunities.
In addition, TÜV AUSTRIA CYPRUS made also the first verification of emission of carbon dioxide in the above airports, in accordance with the requirements of airports verification shape Airport Carbon Accreditation Scheme (ACAS) of Airports Council International Europe (ACI-EUROPE). This scheme aims at the effective management and reduction of emissions from the activities of airports.
As the CEO of TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS Mr. Kallias noted: “This is a partnership of particular value for TÜV AUSTRIA CYPRUS that proves its dynamic evolution in the local market. The Senior Executive Director of Hermes Airports Ltd Ms. Helen Kalogerou expressed his satisfaction for obtaining certification ISO 50001: 2011 in the field of energy management by the company. As she mentioned “this certification puts the two international airports of Larnaca and Paphos, in the highest category of airports worldwide that managed to obtain this important certification. This makes us feel very proud. “
