Piraeus Bank presented on December 12 the country's first ever environmental loans package. Loans will be granted to companies and individuals that want to set up renewable-energy production sites.
It is also going to fund homeowners who want to equip their homes with solar energy production systems — photovoltaics. According to a law on renewable energy production passed earlier this year, homeowners can use the energy produced by their solar panels to power their homes and sell off any excess to the national grid.
Piraeus Bank announced the loans will have a repayment period of up to 15 years, while homeowners can also get loans to make the necessary structural adjustments to their home and pay off in a period of up to 40 years.
