Leading position in green lending

Eurobank EFG has captured the leading position in “green” retail lending by financing residential photovoltaic systems installed on roofs. More than 2,000 retail customers, who have been funded by the Bank in Greece to install domestic photovoltaic systems, are already earning income from the sale of the ‘green’ energy they generate to the Public Power Corporation.

The Bank is also a leader in the segment of “green” loans subsidised by the Greek State… Specifically, Eurobank EFG has received more than 7,000 applications to date for the subsidized “Energy Efficiency in Household Buildings” Programme, out of which more than 5,500 have already been pre-approved, and thus plays an important role in the Programme’s success nationwide. Moreover, the Bank has to date financed 4 in 10 households that have used financing programmes for home improvements aimed at conserving energy.

Eurobank EFG Group acts on its commitment to the environment by developing a wide offering of Green Home lending products and by continually improving the “ecological footprint” of its operations. The Bank thus contributes in the effort of Greek households to conserve energy, save costs, and improve their quality of life, as well as in the greater cause of environmental protection.
