More donations to the homeless of Athens

HYGEIA Group is continuing its emergency project to provide assistance to the homeless of Athens, with the participation of numerous other companies of the Marfin Investment Group (MIG).

On Thursday March 8th, a HYGEIA Group team visited the City of Athens’ Homeless Shelter and distributed 1,000 meals, a donation of the Everest Group’s Olympic Catering, 1,000 LIFE juice cartons and 200 tubs of children’s yogurt, a donation of DELTA company, member of the Vivartia Group, and 1,000 bags of seasonal fruit, a donation of the Olympic Air company.

Last week, 700 meals were donated by the Olympic Catering company, and 700 1lt cartons of milk were donated by the DELTA company, were distributed at the Homeless Shelter. Furthermore, the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors offered medical supplies and 700 bags of fruit.

In addition, SARNITEC AKE, a cooperating construction company of HYGEIA Group, completed the construction of a roof at the outdoor area where the food is distributed. In the meantime and as planned, building material has already been delivered to the Shelter for fencing the Homeless Shelter’s yard, thus creating a recreational area for children (painting, handicrafts).

Up until now, the City of Athens Homeless Shelter has received: 500 sleeping bags, 45,200 disposable food containers, 700 meals, 500 packaged sandwiches, 2,500 portions of seasonal fruit, 500 croissants, 200 bags of chocolate pastries, 2,000 pastries, 65 boxes of Nounou Kid and Noulac milk as well as medications and medical supplies. Moreover, a collection of milk, juices, coloring pads, coloring pens and games have been distributed to the children of the poor families that dine at the Shelter daily. Lastly, two commercial refrigerators and a cargo van have been donated to the Shelter.

Commenting on the aid initiatives for the City of Athens homeless, HYGEIA Group’s CEO, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, said: “HYGEIA Group is fully aware of the sensitive nature of the area it serves, where healthcare is directly associated with the values of respect and compassion towards people.
