Over the past four years, namely since companies are assessed according to the CR Index by the Corporate Responsibility Institute, Piraeus Bank has been participating regularly, constantly improving its performance in Corporate Responsibility. Specifically, in the first year it achieved the Silver status, then in 2009 and 2010 the Gold status, finally conquering the Platinum status in 2011. It is worth noting that it has always been awarded the highest status given to a company in that year. Additionally, in 2009 and 2010 Piraeus Bank received special mentions for its cultural work through the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) and environmental performance. In 2011 it was obtained the Best progress PLATINUM award.
As stated by Ms. Staikou, Chairman of PIOP and Head of Group Corporate Social Responsibility: “This top award has come to crown the Bank’s long-standing contribution to society, the environment, culture, and people, in the framework of the corporate responsibility that is lived across the hierarchy levels of the Group. It becomes even more significant because it occurs at a time of economic and social crisis, when people’s trust in businesses is low. Additionally, I believe that it gives hope for a brighter future, indicating that there are still companies like Piraeus Bank that invest in SCR despite the adverse conditions.” She added: “I would like to thank all the employs who joint their efforts and helped the Bank receive this highest award.”
