Accreditation of COSMOTE’S Environmental Electromagnetic Fields Measurements Laboratory in accordance with ISO 17025

COSMOTE’s Environmental Electromagnetic Fields Measurements Laboratory was awarded an important distinction, having been accredited in accordance with ELOT ISO EN/IEC 17025:2005 by the Hellenic Accreditation System S.A. (ESYD). The accreditation certifies that the measurements conducted by the Laboratory are performed in accordance with the proper, established procedure and ensures the objectivity of the measurement results, which is ascertained through regular sample controls.

COSMOTE’s Laboratory is henceforth part of the merely 8 accredited laboratories in the country. Staffed with seven scientists who hold specialised graduate degrees (PhDs and MScs), the Laboratory is conducting electromagnetic radiation measurements in the 75MHz-3GHz frequency range, in different environments: mobile telephony, radio, television, other wireless telecommunications (e.g. VHF, TETRA), wi-fi and radar. Measurements are carried out in accordance with ELOT ΕΝ 61566:1999, ELOT 1422-3:2007 and CEPT ECC/REC/(02) 04 standards.

“The accreditation of our laboratory, distinguished for its high quality measurement systems and procedures and its scientists’ know-how, demonstrates, yet again, COSMOTE’s commitment to quality in communications and EMF regulations compliance,” said COSMOTE’s General Technical Director, Mr. George Tsonis.

The quality management system underpinning all Laboratory operations is an integral part of the ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system of the company.
