On Friday, September 7, representatives from HYGEIA Group visited the City of Athens Homeless Shelter (KYADA) and distributed school bags, notebooks, pencils, pens, pencil cases, coloring pads and other supplies to primary and secondary school students. The action aims at providing support to underprivileged families in view of the new school year.
The program, which was launched in January 2012, includes a series of actions aiming at addressing the basic needs of the homeless and poor in the City of Athens. To date, HYGEIA Group has already donated a cargo van, two commercial refrigerators, food, medications and medical supplies, sleeping bags, and disposable food containers to the Homeless Shelter. A roof has also been constructed over the outdoor area of the Shelter.
Commenting on the initiative, HYGEIA Group’s CEO, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, stated: “The new school year signals a starting point of new experiences for both parents and children. In these difficult times, our aim is to make a contribution to the everyday lives of these school children, by providing them with all the necessary items for a better and more creative school year. The unflagging support of the MIG companies and the Group employees encourages us to continue our social contribution for the benefit of the people in need.”
