Solidarity event at the Municipality of Perama in Athens, Greece

In view of the upcoming Christmas holidays, HYGEIA Hospital organized a festive event to demonstrate its support and solidarity for the vulnerable social groups of the Municipality of Perama in Athens, Greece. The initiative forms part of the Group’s social responsibility actions.

The Christmas event was hosted in the Perama Town Hall, where HYGEIA Group volunteer employees distributed a wide assortment of food and desserts they had prepared themselves to the 500 people that attended. The Group employees organized games and activities for the children, who were also given milk cartons, juice boxes and tubs of yogurt, kindly donated by Vivartia, a member of MIG, after the end of the event.

The Christmas party was sponsored by the companies of MIG, such as Vivartia and Marfin Foundation, as well as companies that work closely with HYGEIA Group, such as: Hotel Pentelikon, Aceimages, Party Mobile Services, Krikou Florists, Newrest and E. Papadimitriou-M. Nezis Interior Decorators.

The Mayor of Perama, Mr Pantelis Zoumpoulis, noted, “We would like to thank HYGEIA Group for selecting the Municipality of Perama to distribute food to over 500 people, as well as gifts to the children, in view of the festive season.  It is a truly worthwhile initiative, since Perama is experiencing very high unemployment at the moment.” In addition, the Mayor thanked the Group for offering a turkey and a bottle of wine to every employee working for the municipal sanitation department.

Commenting on the initiative, HYGEIA Group’s CEO, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, stated, “HYGEIA Group is standing by the people who are experiencing hardships, treating them with respect and a sense of compassion.  We have undertaken a major responsibility and I ought to note that this mission has been willingly and voluntarily adopted by all the Group employees. The Management strongly supports all social responsibility actions and wishes to thank all the MIG Companies, as well as all the other third-party companies, for their contribution to this initiative.”
