COSMOTE continues to support families in need through its ‘Our world is you’ action

• The company covers heating needs for the 200 families of the Support Program

COSMOTE continues to support the 200 families participating in the “Family Support Program” in cooperation with the Solidarity and Support Centre of the City of Athens (KYADA). In this context, the company offers 200 energy fireplaces and the required fuel for the entire winter recognizing the difficulty of these families to meet their heating needs.

Furthermore, on the occasion of the Program’s first Christmas, COSMOTE has invited the public where the Program is hosted to give more joy to the families. For two days, volunteers created original crafts and prepared Christmas packages for all families with blankets, Christmas trees and ornaments. The work of the volunteers was actively supported by well known athletes of the Panathinaikos team. Costas Tsartsaris and Haris Giannopoulos from the basketball team and Stergios Marinos and Spyros Fourlanos from the football club offered their help and support.

The Family Support Program fulfilled Illiana Karavioti’s wish to support families in need. It is the second idea implemented in the framework of the company’s action “Our world is you”, through which COSMOTE gives everyone the unique opportunity to see their own ideas of a better world come true. Through the Program, which is carried out in cooperation with KYADA, 200 families are offered food, clothing and other essentials, toys, books, internet access as well as support by psychologists and social workers for an entire year. The selection of the 200 families has been conducted by KYADA (Solidarity and Support Centre of the City of Athens) based on specific criteria. The cost of the material provisions for the families as well as the expenses for the full reconstruction and equipment of the building hosting the Program are fully covered by COSMOTE.
