Alpha Bank, with sensitivity and a sense of responsibility, amidst the adverse financial circumstances faced by our country, pursued throughout 2012 significant social activities, thus bringing out human values, such as benevolent contribution. In particular, during 2012, the following actions were carried out by the Bank with the participation of Volunteers from the Bank Personnel:
Finally, during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Bank supported financially or donated food supplies to the following institutions:
- In April 2012, Employees of the Bank offered clothes or long-life food supplies for our fellow citizens in need. The selection and checking of the articles was conducted by 70 Volunteers from the Bank Personnel. Thanks to the broad participation of the Personnel, a total of 300 boxes of food supplies and 150 boxes of clothes and toys were collected, distributed and offered, following the advice of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, to parishes of the Attica Prefecture.
- In May 2012, in the context of the “Alpha Bank Group Volunteer Day”, a number of charitable events took place in Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Patra and Chania, with the participation of 147 Volunteers. The aim of the events in all the cities was to collect food supplies and offer them to families in need, through soup kitchens and “social grocery stores”. A total of 380 boxes, weighing approximately 3.5 tons, were collected.
- In October 2012, an event took place aiming to support the multi-child families of the Attica Prefecture, where Employees offered infant and children’s utensils, food and infant/childcare ware for children of 0 up to5 years old. The collection, selection and the preparation for dispatch of the articles was conducted by Volunteers of the Bank. A total of 300 boxes were collected and distributed to multi-child Associations of the Attica Prefecture.
- During November and December 2012, the “Helping Hand” action took place: This is a new Corporate Social Responsibility activity which isconducted in the context of social contribution. The “Helping Hand” pertains to the offering of food supplies to residents of areas in the Thessaloniki and Attica Prefectures. In particular, 4,000 carts with pasta, rice, pulses, tin cans, flower, oil and biscuits provided by Greek companies-customers of the Bank were delivered to the parishes of Evosmos and Polichni in Thessaloniki, Megara, Elefsis, Aspropyrgos, Salamis, as well as to 44 parishes of the Diocese of Ilion in Attica.
Finally, during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Bank supported financially or donated food supplies to the following institutions:
