On December 21, 2012 ICAP Group launched the 1st Edition dedicated to Women who manage companies in Greece by the positions of Managing Director, General Manager and Administrator. The Edition – distributed with TA NEA newspaper – includes a special study for the 500 largest companies (in terms of turnover) managed by women as well as the results of a research with interesting findings. This Leading Edition is endorsed by Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni – Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Rodi Kratsa – European Deputy and Vice President of the European Parliament (2007 – 2012) and Mrs. Maria Damanaki – European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

A special notice should be made  about the findings of the Study which revealed that 1 in 5 companies are managed by Women with this percentage getting higher in enterprises with a turnover of less than EUR 2 million (20.5 %) and less than 10 employees (20.2%). On the other hand, these companies have better profitability results (cumulative EBITDA 2011 7,1% versus -17.3% of all companies). Also, 9% of the companies included in the «500 Business Leaders in Greece» (most profitable companies in terms of EBITDA, 10/2012) are also managed by women. Additionally, primary research showed that the average woman entrepreneur / senior executive has a high level of education (Bachelor and Masters Degree), is between 40 and 49 years old, has a family and her career is “very” or “extremely” high in her priorities (for 96.4% of the sample).
