COSMOTE participates in the ECOGEM research project

The project’s aim is to design and develop an advanced driver assistance system for Fully Electric Vehicles providing: more energy efficient and environmentally friendly routes & information on autonomy and recharging points/stations

COSMOTE participates in the ECOGEM research project aiming at designing and developing an advanced driver assistance system for “green” cars (Fully Electric Vehicles).

The highly-innovative ADAS system (Advanced Driver Assistance System) on which the project focuses, offers real-time monitoring and information management capabilities while on the move in order to recommend the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly route possible, as well as to inform the driver about the FEV’ s autonomy and the nearest recharging points/stations.

In the framework of the ECOGEM project, COSMOTE is responsible for defining the technical specifications for the secure and efficient communication of vehicles with the central system platform, and also for making this information available among them. The company also contributes significantly to the dissemination and commercialisation actions of the project results.

COSMOTE is actively engaged in research and development activities, both at European and national level, boasting a large number of successful projects and an international network of partnerships in industry and academia. Its contribution to the ECOGEM project is fully aligned with its Environmental Policy, under which COSMOTE ensures the efficient use of natural resources and the reduction of its environmental footprint.

Eleven bodies coming from eight countries (Greece, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, United Kingdom, Poland) are involved in the ECOGEM project, including manufacturers of automobiles and navigation devices, as well as universities. The project is funded by the EU under the 7th Framework Program.
