Free-of-charge first-aid kits for the schools of Filothei-Psychiko

HYGEIA Hospital donated 23 fully-stocked first-aid kits as well as medicinal products (essential/non-prescription) to the schools of the Municipality of Filothei-Psychico. The action forms part of the Hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, in response to the Municipality’s request for pharmaceutical support to all its local schools (kindergartens, primary schools and high schools).

During a special ceremony that was held in the Blue Bell municipal building on Wednesday March 27, representatives from HYGEIA Hospital, accompanied by one of the Hospital’s ambulances, handed over the first-aid kits to the Mayor, Mr Pantelis Xydakis. The ceremony was attended by the deputy mayors and council members, as well as teachers and students from the local schools.

The local government representatives thanked HYGEIA Hospital for its kind offer. During the ceremony, the Mayor of Filothei-Psychico stated, “The priority of our city council is to provide whatever is necessary so that our children may attend school in a safe, contemporary and fully-equipped environment. HYGEIA Group responded immediately to our request and its kind donation will significantly contribute to our schools having better pharmaceutical cover and offering first aid immediately in the event of an emergency.”

Commenting on the initiative, HYGEIA Group’s CEO, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, noted, “We could not but respond with sensitivity to the request of the Municipality, with the aim of caring for and safeguarding the children’s everyday activities at school. The most valuable asset for students in this endeavor is their health, which we ought to protect in every possible way. Besides, prevention is the most effective cure. For this reason, HYGEIA Hospital raises the bar yet again.”
