During a special ceremony held in the Ilion Town Hall reception room on Wednesday April 17, representatives from HYGEIA Hospital, accompanied by one of the Hospital’s ambulances, handed over the first-aid kits to the Mayor, Mr Nikos Zenetos. The ceremony was attended by the deputy mayors and council members, as well as principals, representatives and teachers from the local schools.
The local government representatives thanked HYGEIA Hospital for its kind offer. During the ceremony, the Mayor of Ilion, Mr Nikos Zenetos, stated, “We are hoping that others will also follow this initiative, since taking action is louder than words and it is what the citizens have greater need for, especially at these times, amid the prolonged instability and insecurity we are experiencing. Businesses are inexorably interwoven with the society they are active in, and through this two-way relationship they both influence and are influenced by the state of affairs in their area. This makes Corporate Social Responsibility a significant institution, which must leave its mark in Greek society.”
Commenting on the initiative, HYGEIA Group’s CEO, Ms Areti Souvatzoglou, noted, “For all of us at HYGEIA Group, caring for the health of the children is one of our most significant priorities. Especially when it comes to students, who are our future, we must expend all our efforts to make them feel safe and protected daily. So HYGEIA Hospital could not but respond to the request of the Municipality and contribute in its own way to safeguarding the health of the Municipality of Ilion students. Besides, HYGEIA has not only raised the bar in healthcare services, but also in showing compassion and love to our fellow humans and society in general.”
