Michael Spanos, candidate for the GRI Stakeholder Council

Michael Spanos, Managing Partner of EuroCharity is a candidate for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Stakeholder Council (mediating institutions).

GRI (www.globalreporting.org) is a non-profit organisation that promotes economic, environmental and social sustainability. GRI provides all companies and organisations with a comprehensive sustainability reporting framework that is widely used around the world.  

The Stakeholder Council (SC) is the formal stakeholder policy forum within the GRI governance structure.  The Council advises the Board on strategic issues. The Stakeholder Council’s key governance functions include appointing Board members and making recommendations on future policy, business planning and activity.

EuroCharity has been a GRI Organisational Stakeholder since 2011 and a GRI Data Partner since 2009.

Organizational Stakeholders (OS) are at the core of the GRI network. The OS network includes representation from civil society, business, mediating institutions, academia, labor, public agencies and intergovernmental agencies.

GRI’s Data Partners collect and process information about GRI reporting and sustainability reporting. They regularly share data with GRI about reports and reporting organisations, and also serve as on-the-ground hubs, identifying reporting trends in their countries and regions. The report and organisation related information provided by Data Partners is added to GRI’s Sustainability Disclosure Database.

Voting has started and is open till 19 August 2013 (24.00 – CET).

All GRI Organisational Stakeholders can cast their vote.
