One more year of results for society and the environment from OTE & COSMOTE

For yet another year, OTE and COSMOTE demonstrate through the annual Corporate Responsibility Report for 2012, that their social responsibility continues to cover essential needs of society and the environment.

It is the first time the two companies issue a joint Report, while in the context of their environmental policy, this year’s Report is published for the first time entirely digitally. In a specially designed website www.ote-cosmote-cr2012.gr, OTE and COSMOTE display among others:

• the significant progress achieved in saving energy and combating Climate Change
• the further strengthening of the Dialogue with Stakeholders, including surveys and evaluation
• the continued support to vulnerable social groups, which, in a difficult year, was not only preserved, but rather in many cases reinforced, through longstanding Corporate Responsibility activities.

With all employees’ active participation, last year OTE and COSMOTE received a number of significant distinctions such as:

• 1st place in the telecommunications industry for yet another year, for their Social Awareness, according to the companies’ tracking research
• 20 awards for Corporate Responsibility Activities
• Platinum status for OTE in the evaluation index CRI (Corporate Responsibility Index) and “Best Progress Award” for the Platinum status.

OTE and COSMOTE Corporate Responsibility Report is the result of OTE Group employees cooperation in Greece and abroad. The aim is to inform all interested parties and to mobilise employees, partners, and the whole of society for action and participation. For the fourth consecutive year, the Report received external assurance and independent certification for both the level of application of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) at level B+ and the Accountability Principles Standard AA 1000 (AA 1000 Accountability Principles Standard).
