On 18th of July the “Smart & Sustainable Cities” conference took place in Athens for the first time. Its purpose was to promote best practices, challenges and opportunities while functioning as an educational platform for advanced technologies towards the direction of creating smart cities. Speakers from Greece and abroad presented a sustainability and growth oriented approach regarding networks, communications, transports, governance and energy management.
DEPA participated with the speech of Mr. Chatzopoulos, counselor of the Strategy & Corporate Development Division, regarding the role of natural gas in the ‘smart’ transport and environmental protection. Mr. Chatzopoulos, analyzing the advantages of using natural gas, mentioned the ways natural gas can contribute to the mitigation of environmental problems and help accomplish the goals of transport policy in Greece.
