On the occasion of the world environment day on 5 June, DEPA urged the children of the “Lighthouse of the World” (Faros tou Kosmou in Greek) to express in their own way the hope for the salvation of the planet and propose with colours and paintings their ideas for the protection of the environment. The themes were climate change, recycling, tree planting, use of environmental friendly energy sources, proper refuse management, environmental pollution etc.
The main aim of the competition was the environmental education of the children and the awareness message of the local community through their works.
Wishing to award the children for their participation, DEPA gave an amount of money which was used for the implementation of an even for the needs of all the children supervised by the Foundation.
