The present publication relates to our Sustainability Report 2013, which illustrates our efforts to provide our Stakeholders with concise, complete and transparent information about the overall sustainability performance (ESG performance) of our Corporate Centre and all our subsidiaries. The Sustainability Report 2013 is a continuation of the corresponding publication for 2012 and is complemented with more detailed information available on the Corporate Social Responsibility section of our corporate website and by relevant references to the MYTILINEOS Group’s Annual Report 2013.
As we have done in the past, in preparing this year’s Report, we have voluntarily aligned our activities with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3.1 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, upgrading its level from B to A+.
We report our performance according to the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact, upgrading the Group’s UNGC Communication of Progress (CoP) Differentiation level from Active to Advanced.
We pursued the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines based on the Mining and Metals Sector Supplement, (March 2010), which is a key pillar of our Group’s performance in the wider context of sustainability.
We applied the seven CSR fundamental principles, as defined by the ISO 26000 CSR International Standard, which cover accountability, transparency, ethical behaviour, respect for Stakeholder interests, respect for the rule of law and for international norms of behaviour and Human Rights protection.
We take into consideration the OECD Guidelines to multinational enterprises on responsible business conduct.
