With the participation of 91 sailing boats from 6 countries and sponsored by COSMOTE the 14th International Open Sea Sailing Race “Aegean Regatta” has been concluded. The great race set sail from Leros to Rhodes, with intermediate stops at Kos and Tilos (August 16th-23rd).

Among the crews that earned distinctions was the one of COSMOTE ERYTOS 2, who won first place in the offshore sailing at Rhodes, came second in the first leg of the Leros-Tilos race and also in the second Rhodes offshore course. COSMOTE ERYTOS 2 overall ranked 8th in the ORCi category.

The stars of the Race, however, were the 170 children of the Kos Sailing Club and the Rhodes Marine Club, as well as the children of the Dodecanese Association for Disabled “I Elpida”, who thanks to the COSMOTE activities were introduced to the secrets of sailing and took a ride in COSMOTE ERYTOS 2.

The top open sea sailing race of the Aegean has been running for 14 years, organized by the Secretariat-General for the Aegean and Island Policy under the Ministry of Shipping and the Aegean, in collaboration with the Open Sea Committee of the Hellenic Sailing Federation and with the Sailing Club of the Eastern Aegean as co-organizer. COSMOTE systematically supports actions contributing to the development of sports in every corner of Greece.
