For the 8th consecutive year, Global Sustain commited to strengthening civil society, funded once again the projects of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
The tendering process for funding NGO projects was conducted in three phases. It started on September 22nd, when Global Sustain invited the interested organisations to participate in the competition. It continued with the voting procedure in the official Global Sustain page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GlobalSustain ) and came to a close on Thursday, December 15th with the Special NGO Committee’s meeting and resolution for the recipients of the funding. It is worth mentioning that this year’s votes amounted to 7,953.
More precisely, the programmes that were chosen are the programme “Continue the operation for 2015 of the national support line for people involved with cancer – 1069” by Public Benefit and Nonprofit Organisation Friends of Cancer “BE STRONG” and the “Silver Alert” programme by NGO “LIFE LINE HELLAS”.
Michael Spanos, Managing Partner of Global Sustain, quoted: “We would like to thank those who supported with their vote the annual NGO projects funding process of Global Sustain, as well as the organisations that honored us with their participation. In a crucial period like the current one, supporting the difficult task of NGOs is our duty and we commit ourselves that we will continue to give impetus to the implementation of programmes aimed at supporting civil society”.
