Michael Spanos’ re-election in the Global Compact Network Hellas Secretariat

Michael Spanos, Managing Partner of Global Sustain was recently re-elected as a member of the Secretariat of the
Global Compact Network Hellas, for the second time.

His longstanding experience in corporate
responsibility and sustainability and his continuous support to companies in
order to incorporate and implement the Ten Principles of Global Compact are
indicative of Mr. Spanos efforts to support and promote Global Compact to
organisations and enterprises in every way.

Mr. Spanos’ participation in the Secretariat is
expected to contribute significantly to Local Network’s work and to the
promotion of GC Principles in Greece, especially through his new role in the
European Commission (Directorate General for Research, Science and Innovation) as
a selected Member of the European Commission Expert Group on the UN Sustainable
Development Goals – SDGs).

The
first two candidates will serve a two year term in the Global Compact Network
Hellas’ Secretariat, which consists of five members – two members of the Board
of CSR Hellas, its Manager and two elected members. Chairman of the Secretariat
is the chairman of the board of the Hellenic Network for CSR.

The responsibilities of the
Secretariat are:

The
provision of information on general issues related to the participation to
Global Compact and the local network.

– The
planning, organisation and communication of events which target at the
promotion of the Ten Principles of the Global Compact to the Greek business
society.

– The
expansion of the Network with the participation of new members.

The
assembly of the members etc.
