European Ecosystem Services Conference 2016
On 19-23 September Piraeus Bank presented the business and biodiversity project LIFE-Stymfalia which coordinates in the European Ecosystem Services Conference 2016, LIFE-Stymfalia was presented in a special session together with 15 LIFE projects, which pay particular attention to conservation and enhancement of ecosystem services. In the context of the Conference, in which over 600 delegates from academic community, international organizations, ministries and private sector were participated, a statement of intent regarding ecosystem services was drafted, the Declaration of Antwerp. Piraeus Bank has endorsed this Declaration raising the issue of refocusing the ecosystem services framework on the principles of sustainability and social justice.
