Piraeus Bank is one of the four organizations that received a distinction by the European Business Awards for the Environment in the “Management” category, at a ceremony that took place in Tallinn on October 27th 2016. The distinction refers to the expansion of Piraeus Bank’s robust Environmental Management System (EMS), certified under EMAS and ISO 14001. Mr Vrassidas Zavras, General Manager, stated that Piraeus Bank΄s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint must be taken for granted. And added that thanks to its EMS, Piraeus Bank has managed since 2008 to reduce electricity consumption and CO2 emissions by 30% per employee, and also to save €5 million annually on operational costs.
