Enel Green Power Group: Eurelectric, the value of electrification

από | 28/06/2017 | ESG/Sustainability

The European electric energy sector is now committed in processing the energetic transition as well as the decarbonization of economy. In this respect, Eurelectric, the association representing the power sector in 32 European Countries, has been detecting both priorities and guidelines in order to support the market transition toward a new energy model.

This is the topic  to be discussed during the annual meeting of the association in Estoril, Portugal, on 19 and 20 June.

“Plug & Play: Charged for the Future?”. This is the title given to this year’s meeting, which will be particularly focusing on the value of electrification as fundamental key player for the path toward the decarbonization of the European economy as well as on the new role that customers will be playing in a society, which is getting more and more digital and electric.

We will participate to the annual convention with the Group’s CEO’s contribution Francesco Starace who will be among the speakers of the opening session.

Eurelectric 2017 will be the opportunity for us to testify our commitment toward a low-emission economy even through the partnership with Formula E, the single-driver electric vehicles’ championship promoting a sustainable mobility model, of whom we are the official power partner.

The Enel’s Strategic Plan, the biggest European integrated utility as per capitalization of the market and among the main European electric companies in terms of installed capacity, is totally in line with both themes and targets of Eurelectric. The association has in fact included a progressive reduction of the thermoelectric production generating from fossil fuels with the goal to decarbonize their own energetic mix by the year 2050.
