από | 27/06/2018 | ESG/Sustainability

The initiatives for the abatement of the climate change, the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the legislation for the provision of non-financial information and the inclusion of sustainability criteria in the financing of businesses that are being promoted by the European Union are some of the factors that change the requirements for the operation of today’s responsible businesses, promoting those investments that benefit the pillars of sustainable development.

Through its operations, MYTILINEOS takes advantage of the opportunities offered by the path towards the big goal of Sustainable Development and transforms the relevant challenges into new possibilities. In this context, within 2017, the company focused even more on the management of the Material Issues that are directly related to its activity and have been evaluated and ranked by the main groups of its Stakeholders.

This effort is reflected in the 2017 Sustainable Development Report, entitled “Promoting sustainable practices at all stages of our value chain”, which was published during the Annual Shareholders General Meeting of MYTILINEOS. This report is the 10th consecutive publication of MYTILINEOS’s Non-Financial Information and was compiled according to the new GRI Standards. The report focuses on aligning the company’s strategy, and thus the company’s Operational, Environmental and Social practices with the Global Sustainable Development Goals (2030 Agenda), presenting the relevant quantitative and qualitative data and initiatives.
