The exhibition “Coins of Macedonia in the Alpha Bank Collection” which opened on February 26, 2009 at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki has been extended until January 31, 2010. The exhibition, which presents 270 gold and silver coins of Macedonia that span the history of Macedonian coinage from the sixth to the first century BC, had been scheduled to run until 8 June 2009. However, it was decided to extend it due to its particular interest and the great public turnout. It should be mentioned that according to the Museum’s statistical data, 9,000 persons visited the exhibition in March, while in April attendance reached almost 17,000 visitors.
