COSMOTE was awarded by the Greek National Society of Benefactors for the protection of cultural heritage though the digitalisation of Adritsaina Public Historical Library’s Historical File.
The distinction was awarded within the context of the two-day symposium organised by the Greek National Society of Benefactors in co-operation with the Olympia and Bequests Committee and with the support of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association “PERICLES”. The aim of the event was to highlight the feat of sponsorship-donation and the creation of a global symposium in Athens for the promotion of those ideals.
“This award is of great significance to us, a group of 30 people from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, COSMOTE and the Municipality of Andritsaina, who worked for three years with sincere intention for selfless giving. The result is not only satisfactory but also rewarding, because with the completion of the Adritsaina Historical Library’s digitalisation each of us from their side and responsibility position contributed to the emergence of an unknown, until recently, national benefactor and a unique invaluable collection dating back two centuries, in a historical area of our country. Living in such difficult times we really need such bright examples,” stated COSMOTE Corporate Affairs Director, Ms. Marilena Fatsea. Ms. Fatsea received the award, while also stressed the importance of the sponsorship as a means to promote our country’s cultural heritage.
