AB Vassilopoulos just published its second Corporate Responsibility Report.
The report presents the achievements and the strategic priorities of AB based on the three pillars: Products, People and Planet, which also contribute to the company’s economic sustainability and development.
AB’s Corporate Responsibility Report for 2009 is based on the principles of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) but also on the Groups values “Determination-Integrity-Courage-Humility-Humor” which aim to the company’s optimisation.
Kostas Macheras, AB’s CEO, characteristically mentioned: “To all those who say that a CR Report is something easy, which only consists of numbers, I will answer that a Report needs Commitment and Vision. Commitment towards the people (clients-associates-social partners), investment in new technologies and infrastructures and a vision for a better tomorrow, where profit will coexist with Social consciousness.”
The Report defines the strategic priorities of AB and underlines the progress made on each of the three strategic pillars:
- In regards to Products, it assures their quality and informs the public for matters of food safety, while promoting healthy nutrition as the primary component of a healthy life style.
- In regards to People, AB’s priority is the development of skills and of its employees together with meeting the social needs of its local partners.
- Finally, in regards to the Planet, AB focuses on the reduction of its Carbon footprint and on its impact to the environment. In parallel, special emphasis is given to educating and to motivating customers to recycle.
In its 2009 CR Report, AB lists and presents the exact measurements and actions taken throughout the year, thus committing through its Vision and Values in improving itself and in finding new ways and methods for further change.
