In its Greek-language report, the company’s firm volition to contribute with tangible actions to the Greek economy, employment and society, but also to contribute substantively to the protection of the environment, always through the active participation of its employees, with transparency and accountability, are clearly stated. In addition, the strategies, priorities and growth plans of Athenian Brewery for the future are presented in the report.
More specifically, during the past two years, our endeavour to further enhance the positive impact of the activities of Athenian Brewery has been proven by:
-

-
The objective of keeping satisfied our 1,200 emplyees, associates and local communities in the regions throughout Greece where we have out business interests.
-
Our commitment to responsible production and the selling of our products.
-
The boosting of Greek agricultural cultivation, by absorbing 31,700 tonnes of barley from Greek producers, worth EUR 6.6 million for the years 2008-2009.
-
The restriction of our intereventions on the environment, with investments of EUR 22 million in green technology, reinforcement of practices that save on natural resources, but also with an investment of EUR 22.4 million in returnable packing materials / bottle recycling.
Since 2006, when the company began the effort for an official and systematic recording of the contribution and values of Athenian Brewery, we set a high target for the objectivity and transparency of the Reports we present. Within this context, this year we decided to implement for the first time the international guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), whereas once again the contents of the Report were given certification by KPMG.
