COSMOTE invites its customers to send their New Year’s wishes through SMS and MMS and give joy to the children in need

For the twelfth consecutive year, COSMOTE invites its customers, though a special Christmas advertising campaign, to “multiply… love” by sending their New Year’s wishes through SMS and MMS and give joy to the children in need. COSMOTE’s longest standing Corporate Responsibility programme successfully continues thanks to the company’s customers warm support, donating a substantial part of the New Year’s Day SMS revenues to non-profit organisations caring for children.

For 2011, COSMOTE will donate part of the revenues from text messages sent between 00:00 and 07:00 on New Year’s Day to the following child care institutions across the country:
  •  The Association of Social Pediatrics Friends “Open Arms”
  •  The Cerebral Palsy Society
  •  The Hellenic Society for Disabled Children ELEPAP
  •  The “Floga” Association of Parents with Children suffering from neoplasmatic diseases
  •  The “Pisti” Association of Parents and Guardians of Children suffering from neoplasmatic diseases
  •  “Child Care” charity institution and association – Thessaloniki
  •  Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of Children with disabilities – Naxos Island.
For the first time this year, COSMOTE and GERMANOS employees actively participated in the institutions’ selection process, voting for the “Pisti” Association of Parents and Guardians of Children suffering from neoplasmatic diseases, among five non-profit organisations from all over the country. The rest of the associations participating in the vote, the “Amymoni” Hellenic Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of people with impaired vision and other disabilities, the “Arogi” Association of Social Care, the “Zoodochos Pigi” Special Children Centre and the “Antonopouleio Foundation”, will also receive support of approximately EUR 2.000 each, in goods and equipment according to their needs.

Additionally, COSMOTE will be offering the equivalent amount of corporate Christmas gifts to a children’s charity. The non-profit organisation selected for 2011 is “Melissa” Special Education Centre in Corfu.

COSMOTE conveys the same principles, values and vision for social growth and prosperity to its subsidiaries across SE Europe. In this context, COSMOTE Romania as well as AMC in Albania consistently implement similar initiatives.
