In the Top 100 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere Institute for the fourth time around

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, was nominated for the fourth year in a row in the Top 100 World’s Most Ethical Companies. This designation awarded by Ethisphere Institute recognises the Group’s efforts to promote the highest standard of ethical behavior in business.

For Schneider Electric, this designation comes as a reward for the several years of work to implement and maintain upright business practices and initiatives that participate in the Group’s success and raise the bar for ethical standards within the industry.

To face issues such as environmental concerns, ensure responsible management behaviors (such as preventing harassment or discrimination) and avoid violations of business ethics (such as bribery, fraud, or conflicts of interest), Schneider Electric set up several frameworks over the years.

With its “Principles of Responsibility”, a set of guidelines first published in 2002 and updated in 2009 and 2013, Schneider Electric gave all its employees a common reference point for responsible behaviors, and complete by sectorial policies (purchasing, quality, environment, etc.). As a supplement to the distribution to all employees, the group has set up in 2010 a Responsibility and Ethics Dynamics program to help the employees when facing ethical dilemma situations. The R&ED program formalizes questioning and alert processes which allow asking the good questions and sharing the issue with the right interlocutors. Since 2010, 50,000 employees have completed the e-learning about the “Principles of Responsibility”. An audit realised in 2011 has shown that 75% of the Schneider Electric employees estimate that “Our Principles of responsibility” and the ethical practices that comes with it constitutes a competitive advantage for the Group. In 2012 and 2013, Schneider Electric set up the R&ED Line, an additional mean (whistle blowing tool) available on a global scale and to all employees having to deal with ethical dilemma.

In 2014, Schneider Electric was one of the four French companies which got ranked among Ethisphere’s list of the 100 World’s Most Ethical Companies.
