The exhibition “Coins in the ancient Greek world“, which was organised by the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection and presented since 6.7.2012 at the Exhibition Area of the Banknote Museum of the Ionian Bank in Corfu, was successfully concluded on 31.5.2014.
The Exhibition constituted a journey through the history of the Coin from the time of its invention (late 7th/early 6th century BC) until the end of the Hellenistic period (2nd century BC).
A same-title Educational Programme, intended for children aged 5-12 years old, was conducted in the context of the Exhibition. In total,14,850 persons visited the Exhibition and 2,301 children attended the Educational Programme.
