Alpha Bank Volunteer Day 2010: 8 Countries, 1,500 Volunteers

In line with the Corporate Social Responsibility policy of Alpha Bank and in order to cultivate and promote sensitivity on social and environmental issues to all Group Εmployees, the last Sunday of May was established, from 2009, as the “Alpha Bank Volunteer Day”. On Sunday, May 30, 2010, volunteer groups comprised of Personnel members and their families, had the opportunity to participate in social or environmental actions in Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Albania, and F.Y.R.O.M., as stated below:

GREECE:

  • CLEANING OF FOREST ROADS IN ATHENS
  • BEACH CLEANUP IN THESSALONIKI
  • BEACH CLEANUP IN PATRA

CYPRUS:

  • CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC PARKS IN NICOSIA, LARNACA, LIMASSOL, AND PAPHOS

ROMANIA:

  • FLOWER PLANTING AND CLEANUP OF THE BOTANICAL GARDENS IN BUCHAREST

SERBIA:

  • REFURBISHMENT OF SCHOOLYARDS IN ALL THE MAJOR CITIES

ALBANIA:

  • VISIT TO ORPHANAGES IN TIRANA, VLORA AND SHKODRA

BULGARIA*:

  • RENOVATION AND PAINTING OF SCHOOLS IN SOFIA
  • CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF CENTRAL GARDENS IN VARNA AND PLOVDIV

F.Y.R.O.M.:

  • VISITS TO THE S.O.S CHILDREN’S VILLAGES

UKRAINE:

  • TREE PLANTING

We would like to thank the 1,500 Αlpha Bank Volunteers and their families for their valuable contribution. Their active participation and sensitisation in similar actions reflect the social responsibility applied in the Group and promote team effort and collaboration.
